Fort St Joseph

The video “The Fort St. Joseph Archaeological Project,” portrays the experiences of staff and students at Western Michigan University’s archaeological field school. This was shot by a videographer from Western Michigan University to promote the field school to the rest of the college, by means of its impact upon both staff and students. The video begins with the Project’s Principal Investigator discussing the pedagogic value of the field school, through its emphasis of conducting a professional approach, as a way to prepare students for a future in archaeology. The video transitions to staff and students, who reflect upon their experiences excavating, and the positive value that the field school has provided them over the course of the summer. During which, the video displays both field students and adult summer campers excavating in their units. SECOND PLACE
